R P Jayasambok

Mr R P Jayasambok, whose involvement in the local music scene dates back to the late 1970s. His humble beginning started off singing in the Singapore Tamil radio and television stations and also being a stage singer.
This periodic involvements gradually thrusted him to limelight, when he emerge as the 1st prize winner in the Malayalam talentime organised by the Kerala Kala Nilayam in 1977.However, he is best remembered as the pioneering particpant in the first Tamil Duet talentime organised by then the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation in 1984.
He was the 2nd runner-up then.From then onward, there is no looking backward for R P Jayasambok, who actively began to pursue his passion for singing and eventually created Sruthilaya as a manifestation of his dedication towards music.
