Laurence Yu
Laurence Yu, prize-winning pianist of Trinity College London Music Competition and Music Essentials NAFA Concerto Competition.
As an active performer in both local and oversea art scene, he has performed in Korea, China, Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore as both pianist and trombonist.
Laurence also performed with some international renowned soloists and ensembles such as, Adam Frey and Russian National Orchestra. Laurence is former bass trombonist in Hong Kong Young Musicians’ Wind Orchestra (HKYMWO), Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Orchestra.
Having experiences in music teaching for many years, 100% pass and 90% merit or above in ABRSM Exam is no more an exciting result for Laurence. However, to let music lovers and children to understand the beauty of art is always be my motivation of giving out lessons.
Laurence is more focus on how much students can learn rather than how many certificates they can collected. Laurence thinks that music lessons not only about music but it is an art training as well. He believes most parents prefer their child to nourished in art rather than certs.
